    Alphabet Recognition Activities

Alphabet recognition is a building block for a strong foundation in reading. Alphabet recognition simply means knowing the names of the letters and the sounds they represent. It is one of the most dominant predictors in the success of early literacy, and is an important skill which opens the door for beginning readers.

Each activity below was created to help your child practice reading fundamentals in a FUN and engaging way. These activities and games are designed to optimize your involvement with your child as you help reinforce skills such as letter identification, letter sounds, identification of consonants and vowels, word families, rhyming, and vocabulary.
