Comprehension
Comprehension is the ability to understand and find meaning in what is read. It is the development of building meaning from the print on the page. Building comprehension is important because without it, it is impossible to read for pleasure or to gain knowledge. When a person reads without understanding, it cannot be called reading, because the main objective of reading is to comprehend (understand what is being read).

These activities and games are designed to optimize your involvement with your child as you help reinforce skills such as using graphic organizers for story elements and mapping, visualization, making text-to-self connections, retelling, and sequence of events.
